New & Improved!

We’re very pleased to introduce you to the exciting Builders Association of the Twin Cities Awards of Excellence. We’ve combined the best of our Reggie AwardsSM and Trillium AwardsSM, brought back Peoples Choice and added Sales & Marketing, Green Building and 50+ categories to create a fabulous program in which virtually every BATC member can participate.

Reggie AwardsSM and Trillium AwardsSM

Yes, the Reggie AwardsSM are still part of the plan. Builders can enter their Fall Parade HomesSM in the “whole house” category. We’ve tweaked the judges score sheets and fine-tuned some of the details, but everything else is kept intact. Four local judges will visit and score each home, then meet together to agree on the winner. Winners will receive the coveted Reggie AwardSM statue.

Associates and Builders are still encouraged to enter together in a revamped Trillium-style competition. Categories are Best Bathroom, Best Exterior, Best Interior Design/Layout, Best Kitchen and Best Special Area. Builders can partner with one or a dozen of the associate members which had a part in the design and construction of that specific area of their home to win. Once again, we’ve updated the judges score sheets and refined other details while keeping what worked best. Winners (builder and every associate who entered together) in each category will receive the Trillium AwardSM trophy.

Green Building

This award honors the best in Green building practices. You don't have to be in a certified green program to win (although there is extra credit), just demonstrate that your entry is environmentally smart. One new home and one remodeling project will be selected as winners.

Peoples Choice

Our popular Peoples Choice Awards will be back. These awards honor the homes that consumers say are the best when judged against what they would consider an ideal home for the price. We know a lot of visitors aren’t all that honest about their impressions of a home they visit when they have to tell a builder or agent directly, so the Peoples Choice postcards are a great snapshot view of what consumers think about their home. Visitors can rank areas like kitchen, curb appeal and bathrooms as well as write in the best and worst feature of the home they visit.

Sales & Marketing Awards

Finally, we all know how important it is to have great sales people! Now we’re ensuring your top people will receive the honor they deserve with our new Sales Person of the Year Awards. Three awards (Best New Home Sales Person, Best Rookie New Home Sales Person, and Best Associate Member Sales Person) will be presented to recognize top efforts in the sales arena. Winners will be selected by a combination of local and national Sales & Marketing talent, and based upon sales quality (not necessarily quantity). Each entrant will be required to have a sponsor who writes a short (150 word) explanation about why this sales person should receive the honor. What’s more, we’ll assist the two New Home Sales category winners to enter in the National Association of Home Builders competition (The Nationals) and show off their success at the regional and national level.
We know our members do incredible marketing so we’re adding two categories that every member can take advantage of: Best Brochure and Best Website. We’re creating three brochure categories: Best Associate Member Corporate Brochure, Best Builder or Remodeler Corporate Brochure, and Best New Home Community Brochure. And two website categories, Best Associate Member Website and Best Builder/Remodeler Member Website.
